We all have strength.
We all have will power.
But not all of us have desire.
At least not
strong enough of a desire to do whatever it takes to accomplish a goal.
In order to accomplish a fitness related goal you must:
1) Have a
strong burning desire to, for example, lose 10 lbs.
2) You must eat correctly (
be honest with yourself).
3) You must follow some sort of fitness program (exercise).
4) You must be consistent.
Next comes the hard (but rewarding) part.
You must use your inner strength, your will power to overcome all of the obstacles
that will block your path.
Trust me, obstacles will always be right in your way.
Examples are:
work
too tired
not motivated (your desire wasn't strong enough)
nothing to wear
stuck in traffic
children
etc and so on...
So if these examples (or others) consume your strength then you will have
a much harder time of sticking with a fitness program and reaching your goal(s).
So what's the answer?
Workout with groups of strong willed people (fitness bootcamps or exercise classes).
Why?
Because "we attract to us the thoughts of others of the same order of thought. The man (or woman) who thinks success will be apt to get in tune with the minds of others thinking likewise, and they will help him, and he them. " - William Walker Atkinson
My 5:45 am class had low energy this morning.
I could feel it.
Some wanted to stay in bed.
Some didn't feel well.
But there were a few who kicked butt and elevated the performance of the entire group.
Afterwards, one lady told me that she thought about not coming to class today.
But she's glad that she did because she ended up having a great workout, the great workout set the tone for the week and she left the class feeling GREAT!
So if thoughts of why you can't do something consume your strength to the point of talking yourself out of a goal, train with a group of people.
But not just any group of people.
Workout with strong willed, strong minded courageous people - their energy will rub off on you and suddenly cause you to look at things in a whole new light.
"Strong will follows strong desire. If you really want to do a thing very much, you can usually develop the will power to accomplish it." - William Walker Atkinson
What "will" you do?
